Riley's Glasses

Before Christmas I took Riley and Ethan to the eye doctor. I made the appointment because I was concerned about Ethan rubbing his eyes while he was watching tv and then I decided it would be good to check both Riley and Ethan.

Ethan's eyes ended up being ok. We found out that Riley has a lazy eye- something I found out I had when I was his age and it is hereditary.

Riley has been wearing his glasses for a week now. For the most part, he likes wearing them and I think he looks so handsome in them! He did say that he can see the tv better now. I am so glad we took them to the eye doctor because I had no idea that Riley couldn't see well.

You cannot tell it in the picture, but his glasses are blue- his favorite color.

Christmas

I am finally getting around to posting our Christmas. It was an amazing week and I am so glad we were able to spend it with our families. Riley and Ethan are at such a fun age right now for celebrating Christmas.

Our Christmas started with having Christmas with our family- Papa Don and Mrs. Carol.

On Friday morning, Santa came to visit.

Santa left a note for the boys.

Riley really wanted the "REAL" bat cave.

Ethan got a Toy Story Landfill that he loves playing with.

On Friday night we went to Tim's parents house to celebrate Christmas with our family. I forgot  my camera so I don't have any pictures.  :(  It was a great night and we loved spending time with our family. Riley and Ethan spent the night with Meme and Papaw.

In the morning we picked the boys up and headed to Hendersonville. I loved getting to meet my new little niece, Gracie!! She is 6 months old now and she's so sweet!!

Then Christmas morning we headed to Big Daddy and Dee's house.

We had a great week visiting with my family and it was a great Christmas!

Our First Gingerbread House

Today we made our very first gingerbread house. I will have to say that it was a lot of work but we enjoyed making it together.

It was hard to keep them from eating all the candy but somehow they managed to get a lot of candy on the house.

I think they made a great house! It is complete with the abominable snowman, Santa, and rudolf.

Santa Pics

Tonight we took the kids to see Santa. Ethan was being extremely shy and a little pouty.

This was my favorite picture of them.

This was Riley and Ethan telling Santa what they wanted for Christmas. Ethan was too shy to tell him what he wanted so Riley told Santa what he wanted.

When we were leaving the mall tonight, we saw Santa leaving to head back to the North Pole. The kids loved seeing him again and they really wanted to see his sleigh.

Leaves

On Saturday, Riley & Ethan played in our neighbor's leaves. All the kids enjoyed jumping and hiding in them. I love living in a neighborhood full of kids that are Riley & Ethan's age.

Riley's First Belt

On Saturday, Riley had his first belting test since he started taking Kung Fu in August. Thankfully, at this age there isn't a lot of pressure. So he just had a do a few moves he has been working on and then he got his belt. He was excited to get it and we were proud of him! He really enjoys taking Kung Fu (or Karate as he calls it)!
