Riley's First Day of Preschool

Today, Riley went to his first day of Preschool. I had mixed emotions about it. It makes me sad that my little boy is old enough to go to school and I know I'm going to miss him while he's at school. But at the same time, I know he's ready. He was really excited this morning!

I'm so glad Riley will be going to school where we go to church. He's been there since he was born and he's in class with a few friends that he grown up with.

Riley's teacher lives just a few houses down from us and Riley plays with her daughter. I couldn't ask for a better teacher!! Riley enjoyed getting to play with the new toys and he didn't mind us leaving him at all.

I enjoyed spending some one-on-one time with Ethan but the house was unusually quiet and I know Ethan missed his brother. When I picked him up this afternoon I could tell he'd had a great day! He's looking forward to going back on Thursday.

Our weekend

On Friday night, Tim and I attended his 10 Year High School Reunion. Luckily, I knew quite a few of his classmates and both of us had a great time!

On Saturday, we went swimming at his parent's house. My 2 little boys are turning into fish! Riley is really getting the hang of swimming.

Ethan really enjoys being in the water and can swim with his floaties on.

Then we went on a "cart ride"

and the boys threw rocks in the creek.

My Sweet Little Boys

You know, I love my life! I love my family! I love my husband! I love my boys!

Ethan keeps me on my toes! We call him "trouble" because he's into everything!! He sure is sweet though!

Riley is my calm one but you have to keep him entertained. He loves to be anywhere I am. Riley is super sensitive and he has the biggest heart!

Riley and Ethan are so sweet with each other. Ethan loves to hug (attack) his brother. They really play well together!

On Friday, I was making their lunch and when I came upstairs to get them- this is how I found them. I hope they always love each like this!!

Our Weekend Getaway

This past weekend, Tim and I went on a weekend trip to Boone, NC... ALONE!! It's been exactly one year since we last went away and it was much needed. We left Friday afternoon and headed to our condo in Foscoe, NC.

We ordered a pizza and enjoyed a relaxing night.

We went to Boone because one of Tim's friend's, Jeremy, was getting married. Saturday we drove to the wedding. First, we go a little lost. After we finally got there, we realized we had read the invitation wrong and we were an hour late to the wedding. Whoops! We did go to the reception for a little while and got some bubbles to take back to the boys!

Later that afternoon, we played some putt-putt

and Tim beat me pretty bad. :(

Then we went shopping at the Boone Mall and ate dinner at Makoto's. When we got back to our condo, we went swimming and then watched TV and relaxed! This is the view from our balcony. It overlooks Grandfather Mountain.

Sunday we morning ate breakfast at Grandview. Then we headed to Blowing Rock where we did some mild hiking.

Then we went to the Blowing Rock Outlets to do a little shopping and then we headed home. I really missed my boys but it was so good to get away and have some alone time with Tim!! Riley and Ethan had a great time with Mimi and Paw Paw. We really appreciated them watching the boys all weekend!
