Our Weekend Getaway

This past weekend, Tim and I went on a weekend trip to Boone, NC... ALONE!! It's been exactly one year since we last went away and it was much needed. We left Friday afternoon and headed to our condo in Foscoe, NC.

We ordered a pizza and enjoyed a relaxing night.

We went to Boone because one of Tim's friend's, Jeremy, was getting married. Saturday we drove to the wedding. First, we go a little lost. After we finally got there, we realized we had read the invitation wrong and we were an hour late to the wedding. Whoops! We did go to the reception for a little while and got some bubbles to take back to the boys!

Later that afternoon, we played some putt-putt

and Tim beat me pretty bad. :(

Then we went shopping at the Boone Mall and ate dinner at Makoto's. When we got back to our condo, we went swimming and then watched TV and relaxed! This is the view from our balcony. It overlooks Grandfather Mountain.

Sunday we morning ate breakfast at Grandview. Then we headed to Blowing Rock where we did some mild hiking.

Then we went to the Blowing Rock Outlets to do a little shopping and then we headed home. I really missed my boys but it was so good to get away and have some alone time with Tim!! Riley and Ethan had a great time with Mimi and Paw Paw. We really appreciated them watching the boys all weekend!

Fun Outside

Riley and Ethan love being outside and they love it even more when they can play in the water. The other day I bought them a small pool at Khols. It looked much bigger on the box but I guess that's just the way it goes sometimes. But it did come with a free beach ball!

I decided to put it under one of their slides and they had so much fun!!

Our Family Pictures

Last Saturday, we had an amazing photographer take our family pictures. I like to have Spring pictures taken of all of us and then I like to have Fall pictures taken of just the boys around their Birthdays. I have been admiring Jill work for about a year now and I finally decided to try her out with a mini-session. Saturday was an extremely hot and buggy day and Riley and Ethan wouldn't sit still. Well, they were no match for Jill because she was still able to pull out their personality and capture it! All of the pictures turned out amazing!!

So here are a few of my favorites!

Bathroom Remodel

Tim and I moved into our house a year and a half ago. The house has been perfect for our family but we knew when we bought the house that there were a few things we wanted to change to the house. One of those rooms being our bathroom. Around Easter, Tim began completly remodeling the bathroom. It took him a few weeks but its finally just about done. We still need to decorate it but its a huge impovement! Tim did a fantastic job on our bathroom and I finally enjoy being in there. So here are some before and after pictures.

So needless to say, I'm happy with the way it turned out. I'm am so thankful Tim is so handy!

A typical day for Riley and Ethan

Riley and Ethan usually wake up around 7 a.m. As soon as they wake up they are both ready to go outside and play... but I'm not. So, the boys watch tv and eat breakfast, while I get caught up on the computer and I drink my coffee.

When they are outside, Riley loves to ride his bike and go for walks in our neighborhood.

Ethan likes to get into trouble.

They also like to play with bugs.

This is a roly poly they found the other day. Both of them loved watching it crawl on their hand and then go into a ball.

I bought this water table last summer. They ask to play with it everyday. It usually entertains them for at least 30 minutes. If you don't have a water table, I highly recommend getting one.

When they aren't outside, they are eating....

By 7 p.m. they are completly worn out and ready for bed.
