Our Second Snowy Day

On Tuesday I took Riley out to play in the snow again while Ethan took a nap.

Our snowman we made on Monday fell over. Riley wanted to make another one but the snow was too powdery.

So we made Snow Angels instead. Brr!!

Then I pushed him around the yard in his car. It was good exercise for me.

After playing outside for about an hour, it was time to go inside. I went to open the backdoor and I had locked us out! I had to go to 3 of my neighbors homes before I could ask someone to use their phone to call Tim. Luckily, Tim wasn't busy and he only works about 5 minutes from our house. I had a monitor with me and Ethan had only been crying for about 2 minutes before Tim came home. I learned that I can go out the backdoor with it being locked and I know, I know... I need to hide a key somewhere.

Snow Days Are Fun Days

Today was the first day Riley has ever played in the snow.

He absolutely LOVED playing in the snow!

He keeps seeing snowmen on tv and he told me he wanted to make a snowman.

This is the best snowman I've ever seen!

After playing in the snow we decided to go to Cheddar's and then to Kohl's.

Our Visitors This Weekend

My sister, Julie, and her children came to visit us this weekend from Hendersonville, TN. Chayse just turned 4 and Austin is 2 (4 months older than Riley). I really enjoyed having them here this weekend. I miss getting to spend time with my sister and it was good to sit down with her and talk after the kids went to bed. I wish we could have more slumber parties!!

Riley loves playing with his cousins! The visit started by having McDonald's together.

Aren't they cute!?! Somehow, Julie found a place to sleep in the bed with them.

On Saturday, we went to the Hands On Museum. We when got there we were pleasantly surprised to find out that our admission was FREE!

Julie with her kids.

Riley was afraid to get too close to the dinosaurs.

How much money would you like Austin?

I can't imagine my little boy ever being old enough to drive.

Our little space cadets.

On Sunday, the kids played with play dough. I caught Austin with his finger up his nose again! (Notice the wall has been painted since Riley made his artwork on the walls!)

Julie had planned to stay until Monday but unfortunately they had to leave early due to predicted snowy weather. The snow better come or I am writing a not so nice letter to the meteorologist.

Everyone hugged and they had to make their 5 hour journey back home. We all had a great weekend. I hope they can come back sometime when its warmer and we won't have to worry about snow.

Elmo Makes Music

On Wednesday I took Ethan to Little Mammaw's house and Riley and I went to Sesame Street Live!

We went with his friends from church, Corinne, Grant

and Claire.

Riley was mesmerized by the show and loved every minute of it!

I enjoyed spending time with my little boy!

Can't turn your back for a second with a toddler....

Tim and I have been wanting to paint in our kitchen but we haven't had the time to do it. This afternoon Riley thought he would get a jump start on it for us while I was doing this dishes. We want to paint it green so he even got the color right.
This is a picture of him trying to hide.

This is a picture of him admiring his work of art. He was being so cute about doing it, it was hard not to laugh. This is the first time he has written on the walls so I certainly didn't want to encourage it.

Thanks for the watercolor paint Mimi!!

Most of it came out with the help of a magic eraser but we might be painting sooner than we had planned.

Our trip to Hendersonville

Last week, the boys and I spent a week in Hendersonville visiting my family. It was a very busy week and we were going nonstop.

Riley enjoyed playing with the train at Big Daddy and Dee Dee's house.

He had fun at Mimi and Poppy's house painting on paper and his face.

I also got to visit with my grandmother. Isn't she beautiful! This was the first time she met Ethan.

Riley loved playing with his cousins, Austin and Hayden.

I also really enjoyed getting to spend time with my sister, Julie!

On Saturday, we went to my niece's Birthday at the Jump Place. I can't believe she 4 years old. I'm so glad we were able to stay for her party!

Ethan slept through the party
After the party we drove 5 hours back home. I had to make the drive back to Jonesborough by myself. I was worried about how Ethan would do because sometimes he isn't a good car rider. He cried a little but I was pleasantly surprised with how well they both did! They almost slept all the way to Knoxville and I only had to stop once.
