I've been promising many of you pictures of our new house so I've finally found a few moments to put some pictures on here and tell you about how the move is going. The past 5 days have gone by so fast. We are loving living in Hendersonville!!
On Friday, we came over to the house and EXPLORED. I've told many of you that I didn't remember much about the house because we went through it quickly and we did not open closets or drawers. When we came in, we had mail waiting for us along with something my sister made for us and these beautiful flowers from my dad and Deanna.
After we explored the house and picked rooms Riley and Ethan wanted to go swimming!
This is Ethan's face after he jumped off of the diving board for the first time!
On Saturday morning, we came back to unload everything. Tim quickly found out that we had/have a wasp nest under the deck after he got stung. His dad worked all day spraying and trying to kill them all and he got stung twice. I still think we have a few. :(
We had the best 2 men come move all of our boxes and furniture. My sister and Deanna helped me organize my kitchen. Tim's mom watched the boys swim. Chayse and Austin also came over to swim and Ethan took a long nap on one of the lounge chairs. Tim and I loved having all of our families with us.
Saturday night, I took the boys upstairs to give them a bath. I found out that we didn't have any hot water. Apparently, I should have called the gas company to have them turn the gas on. With all the calls I made before we moved, I didn't even think to call the gas company. With it being Labor Day weekend, I couldn't call untill Tuesday to set up an appointment. The next available time someone could come out is Thursday. I have been taking cold showers and washing my hair at my sisters. Tim has own method of boiling water and pouring it over his head. Yesterday, I gave the boys a bath and it took me about 45 minutes to boil water and get the water to the right temperature. I know this experience has made me appreciate hot water more!
On Sunday, my best friend, Christin, and her family came over to swim.
I am looking forward to spending more time with her and homeschooling our children together.
On Monday, Deanna and my dad took the kids to Monkey Treehouse for the day. It was so nice to be able to get work done around the house. We also went out to eat by ourselves.
My stepsister, Christina, her husband, and Gracie came by to visit us.
A neighbor came by and invited us to a Labor Day neighborhood party that was directly behind our house. We wanted to meet some neighbors so we decided to go. When we got there everyone was so friendly to us. Apparently, they do this often so I looking forward to getting to know some of them better. Two of the neighbors said our boys could use their playgrounds any time we wanted to so its nice we don't have to build one.
On Tuesday, Tim's dad came to visit because he came to a car auction nearby so we had our first guest stay with us! Riley and Ethan were excited to see him! I also made my first meal in my kitchen- spaghetti.
Here are some pictures. I have almost all of the boxes unpacked and about half of the pictures on the walls. The only room that needs some work is our bedroom and I post a picture of our room when its done.
This is Ethan's room. This is one of the rooms we had painted before we moved in. We are going to convert his bed into a full size bed soon and we also need to add some artwork above his bed.
This is Riley's room. We need to add some artwork to his room and we are going to paint the monkey picture a little make it flow a little better with the room. Riley picked this room because it overlooks the pool.
This is the boys playroom. I still need to hang the artwork.
There is a murphey bed in the room so you just pull down the wall and its an instant bed! We love this about the room because the boys can play in the floor when we don't have guests.
This is the bonus room. Its needs a lot of work but its getting there.
Riley and Ethan made a fort in the bonus room. They love playing in there.
Breakfast area
Family room
This is our dining room. This is the other room we had painted. We were very happy with the paint colors! Tim made the dining room table and now we need to find some chairs for it.
office
Riley and Ethan found a cat while they were playing outside last night.
So there's the tour. We love our new house but we all miss our friends in East Tennessee!
