The morning of Riley's Birthday started with some excitement. The kids and I were laying in my bed. When I got out of bed, I saw something small and white run across the floor. I said, "Please, tell me that's Thorn." They said it was. So I put a blanket by my door so that he couldn't leave my room. He was running under the bed and behind the furniture. It took me about five minutes to catch him but I finally was able to catch him with an empty container.
Apparently, SOMEONE (me) left his cage open after feeding him last night. I'm sure Thorn loved having all that freedom! I'm just glad it was easy to catch him and that we weren't hunting all day for him!
In our house, you don't have to do schoolwork on your Birthday. So Riley and Ethan loved having a day to play. Tim also came home from work early and we all loved that!
For an afternoon snack, we sang "Happy Birthday" to Riley and they had super hero cupcakes.
Next, Riley wanted to go creek walking. It was fun until Tim saw a small snake and then I was ready to go back home. When you see one snake that means there are more. Riley and Ethan wanted me to get in so I reluctantly got in and thought about the snake the whole time.
Then, we went back home to clean up and get ready to go putt putt golfing at Drakes Creek Activity Center. I used to go through when I was a kid so I loved getting to take my own children there.
We all had a great time!!
Riley decided he wanted to go to park after we went golfing. Chayse, Riley's cousin, came for a little while to play with the boys.
Then we came home for present time!!
Riley got some super hero playdough and
his first "big" Bible with his name on it! He loved it!
After dinner, we all went outside to go swimming. We are all loving having a swimming pool! Riley and Ethan swim in it just about every day.
It was a great day! This weekend we are having a joint Birthday party for Riley and Ethan with my family and Tim's parents will be coming in for it!
